Values were irregular but mostly
unchanged to lower when compared to a
week earlier. Offerings were adequate for
the light demand. The undertone was mix
ed but usually steady to weak. Liquid and
frozen eggs (ingredients included) pro
cessed under federal inspection in the East
ern region for the week ending November
27, 1999 were I % more than last week,
and 1 % more than a year ago. Shell egg
supplies were fully adequate to ample for
full trade needs.

GLANCE
In the Eastern region, prices were
unchanged to slightly higher. Elsewhere,
prices were unchanged. The market tone
ranged steady to firm, mostly steady to ful
ly steady. Demand was generally moderate
to fairly good at times, and often noted as
improving with seasonal interest Supplies
of all sizes were usually adequate to avail
able. However, in the North Central region,
availability of the lighter weights were li m
iled at times, in addition, offerings of all
sizes were generally light on the West
Coast. Breaking stock supplies were at
least adequate to ample from regular sour
ces, and demand for additional product
continued unaggressive. Light type hens
were fully sufficient for current slaughter
requirements.

Movement of ready-10-cook whole birds
was slow. Seller offerings remained readi
ly available with spot sales noted as low as
40 to 41 cents in an effort stimulate activi
ty. live supplies were at least moderate;
weights were mixed in a full range of light
to heavy, mostly desirable to light. Pro
cessing schedules were moderate to mod
erately heavy. Less than trucklot asking
prices were unchanged at 55 to 67 cents.
Trade sentiment was mostly weak. In the
parts complex, all items were at least
adequate for the seasonally light and unag
gressive buying interest
