Steer and heifer calves steady to 2.00 higher. Demand good for all classes. Bulk supply calves. Calves in moderate to fleshy conditions. Quality average to attractive with many unweaned calves in supply. Few feeder cattle in medium to fleshy conditions with several grain fed steers. Weigh- ups average to full. Slaughter cows .50-1.00 higher. Slaughter bulls 1.00 higher. Packer demand moderate and much improved from past several weeks. As is normal for the fall culling season many thin emaciated cows in the supply. Total of S9O cows and bulls sold with 45 percent to packets. Receipts this week 14,100; last week 6,352; last year 14,113. Supply consisted of 35 percent yearlings and calves over 600 lbs; 58 percent calves under 600 lbs; 7 per cent cows and bulls. Heifers comprised 40 percent of feeder and calf supply. Prices follow with weighted average weight and price in parenthesis.
