Conducts Roundup
GREENCASTLE (Franklin
Co.) The Franklin County 4-H
Beef Club held its roundup and
sale here at the Greencastle Live
stock Market in September. There
were 23 members.
Grand champion steer was
shown by Jodi Meyers of Green
castle and the reserve by Justin
Conner of Chambersburg. Jodi is
the daughter of Dean and Nancy
Meyers. Justin is the son of Jeff
and Pheobe Conner.
Justin Conner was also nqpied
the champion fitter and his brother
Jordan Conner was named champ
ion shower.

Berks County Conducts Beef Roundup
KUTZTOWN (Berks Co.)
Members of the Berks County 4-H
Beef Club participated at their
combined roundup at the Kutz
town Fairgrounds in September.
Champion beef project member
was awarded to Kristy Dietrich of
Hamburg. Kristy is the daughter
of Jim and Donna Dietrich. Kristy
also exhibited grand champion of
the show with her 1,290-pound
Simmental Crossbred steer named
Jordon which she bought from the
Adams County Beef Producers
Association.
There were 25 steers shown.
Kristy’s steer was purchased by
First Union Bank for $1,500.
Reserve project member went
to Cassandra Spatz erf Mohrsville.
Cassie is the daughter of Carol and
Harold Spatz.
Cassie’s steer was purchased by
Lebanon Valley-Great Valley
Bank for $950.
The members accumulate
points based on three categories,
which include a skillathon, show
manship. and the placing of their
steer at roundup.
Reserve champion steer was
awarded to Kelly Dietrich of
Hamburg with her Angus steer
named Shivers. She purchased the
steer from Weaveriand Farm in
New Holland. Kelly is the daugh
ter of Jim and Donna Dietrich.
