USDA-MO Dept Ag Market News
DAILY NATIONAL GRAIN
SUMMARY
Grain and soybean bids were sharply
lower due to harvest progress, favorable
weather, profit taking, slow export
demand, and good yields in com and
wheat. Wheat steady to 12 cents lower.
Com 2 to 6 cents lower. Sorghum 4 to 5
cents lower. Soybeans 7 to 15 cents lower.
Slow export sales this week, weighed on
wheat bids, despite fairly good overnight
purchases and some profit taking was
noted on the Board. Good tains in the
southern Plains spur ideas of increased
hard red winter wheal plantings. Spring
wheat harvest is finishing up and elevators
are trying to clear out wheat to make room
for com and soybeans. Com bids were
lower due to early harvest reports of better
than expected yields. Good overnight
export sales of com, limited declines.
Sharp losses in soybean bids, again, were
due to continued lack of export orders this
week and good growing weather. Continue
weakness in soybean meal also added pres
sure to beans.
