slaughter steers and heifers sold mostly
steady m a light test Demand was fairly
light, but still adequate for the reduced
supply Holstein steers and slaughter cows
sold steady to firm. An attractive
offering of slaughter bulls sold 1.00-3.00
higher. Supply included 59 percent
slaughter steers and 18 percent slaughter
cows

CATTLE: Compared to Thursday,
a light tun of slaughter steers sold mostly
steady. Trading was uneven with one
major packer virtually inactive. Holstein
steers sold steady to firm, and slaughter
heifers were not well tested. The
slaughter cow market was slow and 1.00-
1.50 lower. A thin test of slaughter
bulls sold 100-2.00 higher. Supply
included 33 percent slaughter steers and
57 percent slaughter cows.

demand continues to be very good. The
Holstein heifers sold firm to as much as
25.00 higher in active trading. Supply
included 740 head in the State graded sale
and around 85 percent were sold for
slaughter.
