Members of The Howard County
Antique Farm Machinery Club,
many of them seasoned Howard
County farmers, are preparing
for its 4th Annual Howard
County Farm Heritage Days,
Sept. 25-26 here at Mt. Pleasant
Farm, about five miles west of
historic Ellicott City.
The farm, a 232-acre tract,
had been in the Brown family
for eight generations until it was
deeded to The Howard County
Conservancy, Inc. in 1993. The
original farmhouse and nine his
toric outbuildings, including a
working blacksmithing shop,
have been preserved, as has the
bicentennial tulip poplar and
the gardens surrounding the
house.

farm on a wagon, view antique

ket booths, eat good food, and
listen to country music. On
Sunday morning at 10 a.m., a
live bluegrass gospel church ser
vice will be held.
Proceeds from this event will
be used to establish a Farm
Heritage Museum in Howard
County. The event allows the
farmers to share their love and
knowledge of historic farm life
in Howard County.
