Demand and trading was light to fair with offerings clearing at most locations. Trade sentiment improved on yolks, steady on whites and slightly mixed on whole. liquid and frozen eggs (ingredients included) processed under federal inspection in the Eastern reg ion for the week ending August 07, 1999 were unchanged from last week, and 6 % less than the same week a year ago. National Egg Market ATLANTA, GA AUGUST 18, 1999 NATIONAL EGG MARKET - AT A GLANCE In Chicago and the Northeast, prices were unchanged to slightly higher on mediums, unchanged on the balance. Else where, prices were unchanged. The market tone was mixed; barely steady to fully steady, although mostly steady, and medium eggs were in the best position. Demand was generally light to moderate, with better movement usually noted for the scattered feature interest. Supplies of jum bo eggs were tight to short, and mediums ranged close to adequate. Extra large eggs were adequate and the large sizes remained available. However, on the West Coast, floor stocks were ample. Breaking stock supplies were mote than adequate from regular sources, and demand for additional eggs was limited. light type hens were ful ly adequate to ample for immediate needs.
