NATIONAL EGG MARKET - AT A
GLANCE
In Chicago and the Eastern region,
prices were unchanged to lower on the lar
ger sizes, unchanged on the balance. Else
where, prices were unchanged. The market
tone was steady at best to barely steady;
trade sentiment was unsettled at times.
Demand was mostly fair to moderate,
instances good, with better movement usu
ally confined to the occasional feature
interest. Supplies of jumbo and extra large
sizes were often closely balanced to
instances tight, however, large eggs were
at least adequate and the smaller sizes were
in ample supply. Breaking stock supplies
were more than adequate from regular
sources and heavier nest run product gar
nered only occasional interest above the
stated range. Light type hens remained ful
ly adequate to ample for current processing
schedules.
