Dale-Pride Holsteins Shows Grand Champions At Lebanon Fair

ma Hostetler family, owners of
Dale-Pride Holsteins, recently
showed the grand and reserve
grand champions in the Lebanon
Area Fair open disivion Holstein
Show.
The family was also named pre
mier breeder and exhibitor of the
show.
Judge for the show was David
Castrogiovanni of Montrose, Sus
quehanna County.
The Hostetlers, with the main
farm in the Bellegrove area of
North Annville Township, have
been frequent recipients of honors
at the Lebanon Area Fair Holstein
show.
Exhibiting the pair of grand
champions marks a significant
showing achievement at the tradi
tionally competitive Lebanon Fair
show. In three out of the past four
years, the Hostetlers have done
such a thing 1996, 1998 and
now 1999.
The grand championship trophy
Is the Albert Moyer Memorial
Award, and is annually presented
by family representatives.
Their grand and reserve grand
champions were a pair of senior
3-year-olds.
Dale-Pride mandel Carmel, out
of dam Dale-Pride Furious Car
men, and sire Lutz-Meadows E
Mandel-ET, was named grand
champion.
Dale-Pride Malachite Angelica,
out of dam Dale-Pride Clietus
Anjee and sire Robthon Malachite-
ET, was reserve grand.
Alan Hostetler performed show
manship duties on the grand
champion, which was also named
best bred and owned of the show.
The trophy is annually sponsored
and presented by Morrissey Insur
ance of Ephrata.
The junior champion of the
show was a winter calf, Windy-
Knoll-View Posey-ET, owned by
Timothy Vail of Myerstown.
The reserve junior champion of
the show was a spring yearling,
Sonncn Leadoff Coupe De Ville,
bred and owned by Adam and Lisa
Sonncn of Richland.
