West Snyder FFA Chapter Wins At FFA Activities Week Eighteen members of the West Snyder FFA Chapter attended FFA Activities Week at Penn State University June 15-17. Members competed with more than 1,200 other FFA members from across Pennsylvania. For a record-breaking sixth consecutive year. West Snyder FFA Chapter was ranked Erst in Pennsylvania based on their pro gram of work and chapter activi ties. This program is designed to recognize FFA chapters who excel in membership, chapter, and com munity development. Their appli cation has been forwarded to the National FFA Center for further competition. Maria Trego, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rick Trego of Beaver Springs, a 1999 graduate of West Snyder High School, was elected to serve as the reporter of the Pennsylvania FFA Association. She will spend the next year repre senting Pennsylvania FFA as a member of the state officer team. Kathryn Heeler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Heeler of Beavertown, placed first in the state FFA extemporaneous public speaking CDE with a gold medal. Kathryn wilt advance to national competition in Louisville, Ky. in October at the National FFA Con vention. Jessica Walter, daughter of Mr. Roger Walter of McClure, served as the official delegate for the West Snyder Chapter at the sum mer convention which was held in conjunction with the career devel opment events at FFA Activities Week. Michele Fetterolf, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Ken Fetterolf, serv ed as president of the West Snyder FFA Parliamentary Procedure Team which placed fourth in the state winning a gold medal for the fourth consecutive year. Other members of the team included Rose Carper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Carper of McClure; Maria Trego, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rick Trego of Beaver Springs; Heidi Good, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Good of Beavertown; Kate Heeler, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Heeler of Beavertown; Jodi Fetterolf, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Fet terolf of Beavertown; Jessica Catherman, daughter of Ms. Sue Catherman of Beavertown; and Steve Catherman of Beaver Springs; and James Wright, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Wright of Mc- Clure.
