Some of the fundamentals ol the new organization plan revolve around the ability of the National Sheep Association to serve as a catalyst to strengthen and advance the sheep industry. It will build an industrywide plan for future growth and profitability by allow ing participants to address oppor tunities and challenges, develop creative solutions, and take ac tions necessary to make changes in the market system by promot ing innovation and positioning the industry as consumer responsive. "One of the exciting aspects of the new National Sheep Associa tion structure is the creation of a Business Development Council,” noted Tom Boyer, Coalville, Utah sheep producer and chairman of the implementation Task Force that helped define the concept and function of the BDC. “The BDC is an important component of the National Sheep Association’s ef forts to provide ways for existing' organizations and individuals to work together to develop and im plement an industrywide strategic plan that positions the industry for growth and profitability.
