Annual Farm City Day on Satur
day, July 10 at John and Sandra
Ogden Farm in Lawrence Town
ship.
Follow 15 south from Law

Activities will be conducted at
11 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m.
This year’s event will include a
200-acre Holstein dairy operation.
Ogden’s milk approximately 30
cows and raise all their replace
ment animals in addition to com
and hay. They have 20 heifers and
seven calves on the farm.

the planning stages but attendees

brings new and different segments
to this ever popular event

barbecued chicken and other fa
vorites will be sold by youth or
ganizations such as 4-H, band, and

Guernsey Herds Continue Improved
REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio
The Guernsey breed continues
to move forward, and Guernsey
breeders continue to strive for
more.
The 1998 list of herds with
improved production continues
to grow with a record number of
herds increasing 50 pounds or
more of protein according to the
American Guernsey Association.
The 19 herds listed by AGA
are the largest amount of herds
since protein started being rec
ognized in 1994.
The list of herds increasing
1,000 pounds of milk or more
stays consistent with the 1997
list, which had the highest
amount of herds recognized
since 1992, with 33 herds.
The breeders are all on TPE.
