The team qualified for the regional event by placing first in the SUN Area event and will advance to the state FFA contest in June at the Pennsylvania State University. In the Extemporaneous Public Speaking event, FFA members are assigned a topic and are given 30 minutes to pre pare a four to six minute speech. Kate Heeter represented West Snyder FFA and placed" first. Kate will advance to the state event at Pennsylvania State University in June. In the General Public Speaking event, Heather Hollenbach represented West Snyder FFAand placed sixth with her speech on avian influenza. Heather qualified for the regional event by placing third on the area level. Jodi Fetterolf and Jennifer McWilliams participated in the* conservation public speaking event in Montoursville. Jodi won first in the SUN Area career development event with a speech on world hunger. Jennifer’s speech on wetlands placed third in the area level. Seven Lancaster Mennonite High School seniors, members of the school’s Hans Herr Chapter of the FFA, received top honors at the annual FFA banquet this spring at the school.
