USDA-MO Dept Ag Market News
DAILY NATIONAL GRAIN SUM
MARY
The Boards staged a late hour tally today
to push grain and soybean bids higher on
the close. Wheat 1 to 7 cents higher. Com 1
to 2 cents higher. Sorghum steady to 3
cents higher. Soybeans steady to 5 cents
higher. Prices are currently at a very low
level, but processors and elevators have
even bigger discount basis further down
the road. This is true for new crop bids and
even later this month. Ideal conditions
exist early in the season for big production
figures. There are large cany over stocks
still in the storage bins. No export
announcements on the books so far this
week. Producers are looking at LDP. Hard
Red Winter Wheat in most places is
already 30-60 cents and Soft Winter Wheat
40-70 cents and combines have not even
made the first rounds yet. Com is not doing
too bad, zero to two or three cents most
places. Soybeans are rather costly right
now. The majority of the counties have
over 1.00 a bushel and a record crop is pre
dicted by many analysts. When the farmers
make the last tuns and put the soybean
drills under the shed for this year they tosh
down to the FSA offices to sign up.
