Local Holstein steer prices trended steady to firm. Slaughter cows traded mostly steady with some weakness as retailers check inventory movement of boneless beef due to holiday weekend. Slaughter bull price levels were generally steady for the week. The local market opened with good demand as buyers work ed to fill their orders during this holiday shortened trade week. Supply included 57 percent slaughter steers, 5 percent slaugh ter heifers, 29 percent slaughter cows, 4 percent slaughter bulls, with the balance made up of feeder cattle.
