TIMONIUM, Md. Savage-
Leigh Lead Chnssy, a 4-year-old
Holstein bred and owned by
Chip Savage, Knoxville, was
named senior and grand cham
pion of the recent 29th annual
Maryland Spring Holstein show.
Mike Stiles judged the show,
held at the Maryland state fair
grounds in Timonium. One hun
dred ninety-one head were
exhibited.
Chrissy, scored Excellent 91,
was also chosen as the best bred
and owned entry of the open
show by judge Mike Stiles.
Currently working on a 3-year,
9-month, 307-day lactation with
2x milking, Chnssy had so far
made 34,600 pounds of milk,
5.3% fat at 1,825 and 3.4% pro
tein at 1,173 pounds.
She carries the Savage-Leigh
prefix on both sides of her pedi
gree, and is out of Chip’s first 4-
H project, Savage-Leigh RORAE
Chrissy.
Chip Savage also showed the
reserve grand champion of the
open show, Savage-Leigh
Bellwood Linda.
Linda, the first place junior 3-
year-old, was classified VG 89 as
a junior 2-year-old. Linda was
also named the overall produc
tion award winner for the show.
Linda was working on a 1-11
record of 322 days with 2x milk
ing and had made 35,260
pounds of milk at 4.8%, 1,712
pounds of fat and 3.1%. 1,091
pounds protein.

on and reserve junior champion
of the open show.

pion of the open show. MD-Dun-
Loafin Astre Anya, the first
place fall yearling, took reserve
junior champion honors in the
open show.
The junior show was topped
by grand champion Ladys-
Manor Vanya-ET, bred and
owned by Harold Smith 111,
Monkton. The 4-year-old Vanya
was named best bred and owned
of the junior show.
Reserve grand champion of
the junior show went to Savage-
Leigh Banana Split, bred and
owned by Jami Savage,
Knoxville. Banana Split, the top
senior 2-year-old, is out of a
Savage-Leigh bull. She was
reserve spring yearling Junior
All-American last year.
Junior champion of the junior
show was another Savage-Leigh
