Wheat and com bids were higher in
reaction to USDA reports. Soybean bids
were slightly lower. Wheat 1 to 6 cents
higher. Com 1 to 2 cents higher. Sorghum
t to 2 cents higher. Soybeans 2 to 4 cents
lower. Wheat bids were stronger due to
USDA’s sharp drop in world wheat end
ing stocks figures for 2000. It fell from 137
to 118 million metric tons. They also put
Chinese production at only 106 million
metric tons and show- ed a sharp drop in
EU stocks. USDA raised projected old
crop com exports by 25 million bushels.
Planting delays in the Western Com Belt
due to rain, supported com bids. Forecasts
are calling for more rainfall in the Dakotas/
Western Minnesota over the next week.
Declines were seen in soybean pits. USDA
released a very bearish new crop ending
stocks number (S9S million bushels) but
that was in line with pre-report estimates.
Delayed com planting in the Western Com
Belt could see these acreages go to soy
beans. USDA cut Argentina’s crop esti
mate to 18.5 million metric tons, limiting
declines Export announcements have been
