Veal calves are raised in many
family farms.
Veal calves are male calves that
do not produce milk. Most veal
calves are Hostein cattle that are
black and white. The calves weigh
about 100 pounds when they arc
bom and grow to 400-500 pounds.
The calves arc fed twice a day in
a safe and warm bam. A vetrina
tian helps the fanner keep the
calves healthy by visiting the farm
and checking each calf for sick
ness. If the verterinarian fmds a
sick calf, it is treated immediately.
