    Cook’s Question
(Continued from Pago B 8)
ANSWER Terri Laskowski wanted a recipe that tastes
like Pizza Hut’s pan pizza. Thanks to Marilyn Huber, Myer
stown, and Anna Joyce Martin, East Earl, for sending recipes.
Pizza Hut Pizza
2 tablespoons yeast
% cup lukewarm water
2 teaspoons sugar
Let stand 5 minutes.
2 cups cold water
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon salt
'A teaspoon garlic salt or powder
Vs teaspoon oregano leaves
3 cups flour
Beat until mixture is smooth. Beat in yeast mixture. Add
3Vs cups more flour. Work until elastic. Let rise until double.
Bake in cast iron pans for best results. Put a few tablespoon
oil in pan, then press in dough. Let rise 10 minutes.
Add your favorite pizza sauce, cheese, and other toppings
such as pepperoni, sausage, brown hamburger, bacon, ham,
green peppers, and onion.
This is a large recipe that makes two large pizzas or three
pan sized. If using cast iron pans, bake 10-12 minutes at
375-400 degrees until crust is brown on bottom. Other pans
take about 20 minutes. Can freeze after baking then reheat
until cheese is melted. The cast iron makes the crust taste
more like those made by Pizza Hut.

year.
Last year I bought a “white”
cactus plant and eventually it
bloomed white with a lavender
edge. Just now it is covered with
large dark pink flowers. It is
amazing! My African violet is
vying with it as new pink flow
ers bloom each day. My amaryl
lis was late blooming this year
but made up for it by having
three enormous red flowers. My
husband watered the azaleas
with an acid solution and they
too are a deep pink.
Last week we checked on the
camper in Snyder County and
found that it was home to some
mice over the winter. They
chewed tow big holes in a com
forter and left their droppings
everywhere. What a mess. A pin
sized hole in the copper pipe
made a problem for my husband
I suppose one should think of
these happenings as making life
interesting.
We had a reunion of sorts at
our home last week when we
entertained a niece from
Germany, her husband, and
Allen’s brothers. I fed them a leg
of lamb plus four vegetables and
that does not count cole slaw
and pickles. They spent an after
noon reminiscing. As they get
older it seems more important to
have these gatherings. So, they
visit much more frequently than
when they were busy earning a
living for their families
