Movement of ready-to-cook whole birds
was light and unaggressive. Offerings were
adequate and in best balance of the 2.5 to 3
pound sizes; 35 and 4 pound sizes were
readily available and generally slow in
clearing. Live supplies were at least mod
erate; weights were light to heavy, mostly
desirable to heavy. Processing schedules
were moderately heavy. Less than trucklot
asking prices were unchanged at 56 to 70
cents. Trade sentiment was steady at best.
In the parts complex, all items were at least
adequate for the disappointingly light taiy
ing interest.

Prices were unchanged to higher in the
Northeast and Southeast and unchanged
elsewhere. The market tone was steady to
firm. Demand was moderate to good, and
best where features were either planned or
in progress. Supplies were short to adequ
ate on the heavier weight eggs and adequ
ate to available on the lighter sizes. Break
ing stock supplies were at least adequate
and the demand remained light. Offerings
of light type fowl were sufficient for full
slaughter schedules.
