CATTLE Compared to Thursday,
slaughter steers sold steady to 50 lower
The market showed definite weakness
from the opening, but had mostly recov
ered by the end of trading Holstein
steers and slaughter heifers were fully
steady There were not enough slaughter
cows on hand for a market test, but a
fairly attractive offering of slaughter
bulls sold fully steady Supply included
74 percent slaughter steers and 6 percent
slaughter cows

fairly light test Trading was very active
for all weights of Holstein bull
calves returning to feed, with prices

was also good for heifers, which trended

542 head in the State grade sale and 95
percent returned to the farm

CATTLE: Compared to Tuesday,
slaughter steers and heifers sold steady.
Trading was fairly active and demand held
up well through the good supply. Holstein
steers traded weak to 30 lower, with the
exception of a few fancy groups. Slaughter
cows sold 30-1,00 higher, with the full
advance placed on the biggest and fleshiest
cows. Slaughter bull trading was active and
prices were fully steady. Supply included
55 percent slaughter steers and 28 cows.
