Prices were higher on whites, mostly
unchanged to lower on whole, and mostly
lower on yolks. The market tone was very
Arm for whites, steady to barely steady on
whole, and walk on yolks. Demand was
generally light to modeiate, however, very
little activity on yolks was repotted. Sup
plies were about adequate to fully adequ
ate. Liquid and frozen eggs (ingredients
included) processed under federal inspec
tion in the Eastern region for the week
ending April 17, 1999 were 5% mote than
last week, and 4 % less than the same week
last year. Shell egg supplies were more
than adequate.

Movement of ready-to-cook whole birds
was fair to good. Seller offerings were
adequate to short and were in the closer
balance on the 2.5 to 3 pound sizes. Live
supplies were mostly moderate; weights
were mostly desirable to heavy. Processing
schedules w 3 were moderately heavy. Less
than truck] ot asking prices were I cent
higher at 49 to 63 cents. Trade sentiment
was fully steady to firm. In the parts com
plex, bone-in breasts were in active
demand and supplies were generally well
cleared. Offerings of boneless skinless
breasts varied from closely cleared to fully
adequate. Leg items, particularly drums
and wings were ample.

MARY
Giain and soybean bids showed some
strength, today, due to continued wet
weather in the Com Belt areas, some
export optimism for wheat, over-night com
sale to Korea, and higher soybean meal
prices. Wheat 1 to 5 cents higher. Com
steady to 1 cent higher. Sorghum I cent
lower. Soy- beans 1 to 5 cents higher.
Wheat bids were slightly higher on expec
tations of wheat sales to Iran and other
sanctioned countries. Indications that CCC
bought 100,000 metric tons of Soft Red
Winter Wheat for domestic use also
offered support. Limiting gains was con
tinued favorable growing conditions for
winter wheat areas. Slight gains in com
.tads were due to the overnight sale to
Korea and continued planting delays in
