Farming, Saturday, April 24, 1999 National Grain Market St Joseph, MO Wed Apr 21, 1999 USDA-MO Dept Ag Market News DAILY NATIONAL GRAIN SUM MARY Wheat bids were slightly higher on spil lover strength from yesterday and over night export sales and reported donation tenders. Com bids were steady to slightly higher on wet weather and planting delays. Soybean bids slightly lower on dry weather forecasts and lack of foreign sales. Wheat 1 to 10 cents higher. Com steady to 2 cents higher. Sorghum steady. Soybeans 1 to 5 cents lower. USDA’s Donation tender for 298,000 tonnes of hard ted winter wheat, 213,400 tonnes of soft red winter wheat, and 113,200 tonnes hard ted spring wheat for May/July, boosted wheat bids. Chile's overnight purchase of soft white and hard red winter wheats also added strength to cash bids. Limiting gains were reports of rain in China’s winter wheat areas and the beginning of Texas harvest Com bids were mostly steady with some strength ncXed due to continued wet conditions in the Combelt areas which ate causing plant ing delays. Forecasts are calling for drier weather in the Midwest areas next week and limiting gains. Declines were made in soybean bids as the dry weather forecast for Midwest areas next week and slow far mer selling undermined bids. Export orders remain nil for soybeans.
