Land O’ Lakes capped another successful year finan cially, dairy farmer members were told during the recent dairy foods unit meetings held throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, according to a coopera tive news release. Sales were up 23 percent in 1998 mainly due to key acquisitions and mergers, including the merger with Dairyman’s Cooperative Creamery Association of Tulare, Calif. Land O’ Lakes Dairy Foods achieved its fifth consecutive year of earnings improvement. The $43 million in earnings, up 43 percent over 1997, represent a 30.3-cent per hundredweight allocation to members.
