Compared to hist week: Feeder steers
and heifers weak to 1.00 lower. Stocker
cattle 2.00-3.00 higher. Demand good for
feeders and better than expected following
the bearish COF report. Demand very good
for Stockers as liberal March rains stimu
late the usual grass fever. Quality average,
end attractive. Feeder cattle in mostly
medium to moderate flesh. Wdgh-ups full
to mostly average. Slaughter cows steady
to 1.00 higher. Slaughter bulls 1.00 higher.
Packer demand moderate. Total of 380
cows and bulls sold with 60 percent to
packers. Receipts this week 11,600; last
week 5,609; last year 10,514. Supply con
sisted of 75 percent yearlings over 600 lbs;
22 percent calves and short yearlings under
600 lbs; 3 percent cows and bulls. Prices
follow with weighted average weight and
price in parenthesis.
