Trading opened very active with increased demand from smaller packets, due to the upcoming reli gious holidays. However, the market lost it's edge midway through the large offer ing and prices ended barely holding steady. Slaughter heifers sold steady in a light test The bulk of the Holstein steers were steady, with light-weight lean individuals selling sharply higher. Demand was lighter for Holstein cows and prices were JO-1 JO lower. The slaughter bulls sold fully steady with Monday's higher market, especially on the younger bullocks and stags. The slaughter calves sold steady to 10.00 lower, despite active trading. Demand was good for Holstein bull calves returning to feed and prices were mostly 8.00 higher. Buyers were very aggressive for Holstein heifer calves and prices were sharply high er than Monday's light test.
