Movement of ready-to-cook whole birds
remained slow to fair at best and generally
disappointing. Seller offerings were fully
adequate to ample for current inquiry. Live
supplies were mostly moderate; weights
were mixed in a frill range of light to
heavy. Processing schedules were mod
erate to moderately heavy. Less than truck
lot asking prices were unchanged at 54 to
68 cents. Trade sentiment was unsettled
and generally no better than steady In the
parts complex, bone-in breasts remained in
best balance. Other items were noted as
adequate or available for a limited buying
interest.

on salted yolks, and unchanged to lower on
the balance. Trade sentiment was barely
steady to weak. Demand was light. Sup
plies were generally adequate. Liquid and
frozen eggs (ingredients included) pro
cessed under federal inspection in the East
ern region for the week ending January 23,
1999 were 2% less than last week, and 3%
less thai the same week last year. Supplies
of shell eggs became more available.
