Mighty Lite™ Dairy Mat Lancaster Farming, Saturday, February 6, 1999-B7 Ida’s Notebook isser Winter mornings, when I awa ken, there is not a necessity to hur ry and pick the peas, husk the sweet com or even can tomatoes. Instead there are lots of little things to do, and I can do them at my leisure. I’ve been embroidering a pil lowcase and also sorting wool gar ments to start another braided rug. Even the house gets some extra cleaning as we noticed that some logs were a bit dusty. It often takes two people to move some of the heavy furniture, and my husband now has time to help me. Winter is also a time for annual meetings. Then we have a chance to cat away from home. Last week we ate out three times which is un usual for us. One meeting was held at the Farm and Home Center in Lancaster. Another was a luncheon at an inn west of Lancas ter where my high school class got mm Fans corp. FiriiFl Tunnel IHUmbl ventilation Systems together, while still another outing was a celebration of our anniver sary. This year it rained instead of snowed as it did the day that we got married, One is never bored as lots of lit tle things come up unexpectedly. Someone’s car won’t start and can we meet the school bus? Or, can I babysit for a few hours in the morning? We are always glad to help as someday we may need help too. Recently, I bought two nice flower plants. One came from the Pa. Farm Show and was called a “walking iris.” I’ve had a similar plant for decades but finally only a tiny one was growing. I do raise my own plants but occasionally add a new one like the large ficus that I saw when I went with my husband to a farm store. You nev er know what you’ll see that inter ests you.
