Boxed beef prices remained depressed this week, but the futures market made considerable gains. The Western fat cattle market gained 1.002.00, tins week and late sales were 62.0063.00 live and 98.0099.00 in the beef. The slaughter cow market held steady until late in the week when hading turned very active and prices ended up closing 2.00 higher. Slaughter bulls sold fully steady. Slaughter bull prices held steady this week. Supply as made up of around 37 percent slaughter steers, 8 percent slaughter heifers, 37 percent slaughter cows, 7 perxnt bulls, with the balance made up of feeder cattle.
