Outstand ing leaders from across the inter national dairy industry are being sought for World Dairy Expo’s annual recognition awards. “We’re encouraging people to nominate someone who has de monstrated exceptional leader ship,” said general manager, Tom McKittrick. “Recognizing these individuals during World Dairy Expo showcases the leadership present in the dairy industry and adds to the excitement of Expo.” Nominations will be accepted through Feb. 1, 1999 and will be accepted in the four following categories: Industry Person of the Year; Dairy Woman of the Year; Dairyman of the Year; and Inter national Person of the Year. Gekas (R-17th District), a member of the House Judiciary Committee, is the keynote speaker at the 20th annual meeting of the Pennsylvania Ag Republicans. The meeting will be at 3 p.m., Jan. 11 in Room B of the Farm Show Building, Harrisburg, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Farm Show. Rep. Gekas has served in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1983. Prior to that he served in the Pennsylvania Senate.
