Feeder cattle and calves 2.00- 4.00 lower, with spots much lower in light lest of prices; market not tested as supply insuffi cient in any one class to make load lots. Road conditions to the sale were poor as freezing drizzle made travel slow. By mid morning blowing snow on top of light layer of ice made travel from stockyards terrible at best Slaughter cows 1.00 lower in very light test. Few slaughter bulls steady. Demand light for minimal supply of slaughter cows and bulls. Demand and market more a function of trucking than, need. With 100 few slaughter cattle avail able to make a load and no other cow sales upcoming this week buyers needed addi tional cost savings to pay trucking. Total of SO cows and bulls sold with 70 percent to packers. Receipts this week 1,540; last week 10,097; last year no sale. Supply con sisted of 45 percent yearlings and calves over 600 lbs; 52 percent calves under 600 lbs; 3 percent cows and bulls. Prices follow with weighted average weight and price in parenthesis.
