CATTLE Compared to Friday, the
light offering of slaughter steers, heif
ers, and Holstein steers was well-rounded
and prices were steady The first day of
deer season was partly to blame for the
light receipts, but trading is starting
to return to normal after last week's
holiday A limited run of slaughter
cows sold steady to firm and a good test
of slaughter bulls sold fully 100
higher in active trading Supply included
56 percent slaughter steers and 15 per
cent slaughter cows

CATTLE: Compared to earlier in the
week, daughter steers sold steady to firm.
Supply Included tome rf the fanciest steers
seen in sevend weeks and most all of the
market's strength was placed on those
types. Holstein steer prices were steady to
.50 higher and a light test of heifers sold
steady to 1.00 higher. A large offering of
slaughter cows traded mostly .50 lower and
slaughter bulls sold fully steady. Supply
included 26 percent slaughter steers and 53
percent slaughter cows.

much larger offering. Slaughter calves
were not well tested. Demand was mod
erate for Holstein bull calves returning to
feed and prices were steady. Holstein heif
ers were sharply higher than Monday’s
light test Around 84 percent of supply
returned to feed.
