Co.) - Twenty Adams County 4-
H members competed in the
14th Annual Adams County 4-H
Beef Show and Sale at the south
Mountain Fairgrounds near
here.
Liz Hitz of Littlestown, in her
first year of 4-H beef competi
tion, showed the 1,250 pound
grand champion steer that was
purchased by Hoss's Steak and
Sea House of Gettysburg for
$2.75 a pound.
Hoss's donated the champion
steer back to the Ben Stine
Memorial fund for resale and
Hoke Mills of Abbottstown pur
chased it for 92 cents a pound.
The Adams county Beef
Producers Association donated
the champion steer banner for
Liz, and jamie L. Boyer, general
contractor, donated the banner
for Hoss's.
Missy Jeffcoat of Littlestown,
showed the reserve grand cham
pion 4-H steer, bought by Bob
Weikert of Weikert's Livestock
for $1.20 a pound.
The reserve champion banner
for Missy was donated by
Spangler's Restaurant and
Upper Marsh Creek farm donat
ed the banner for Weikert
Livestock.
Auctioneer for the sale was
