Demand was fairly good as pre-holiday
preparation continued. Supplies were light
to adequate. Liquid and frozen eggs (ingre
dients included) processed under federal
inspection in the Eastern region for the
week ending November 7, 1998 were 2%
more than last week, and 7 % more than the
same week last year.

Prices were unchanged to higher for the
large sizes in the Northeast, Southeast, and
Midwest, and unchanged on the balance.
The market tone continued steady to firm.
Demand remained moderate to very good,
mostly moderate to good, and was best into
retail channels. Supplies were generally
adequate to instances tight, and additional
supplies continued to be maintained with
confidence for holiday distribution; some
operations tan extended grading hours to
prepare cartoned eggs for holiday orders.
Breaking stock supplies were no mote than
adequate for the irregular, but mostly light
to moderate demand; finished product
sales of liquid and frozen eggs continued
very good, light type hen supplies were no
more than adequate for full slaughter sche
dules.
