The State Convention will be

On Thursday, November 5*
Farm Women #2O met at the
home of Pauline Reinhart with
Dorothy Crawford as co-hostess.
Following the luncheon Dorothy
had the devotions and for the
Scripture read Psalm 92 and a
reading Summertime Review.
The Lord’s Prayer was prayed in
unison followed by The Pledge of
Allegiance. For the Roll Call
each mentioned what they want
ed for Christmas from their
Secret Pal. The attendance was

p.m. Berks County executive
board will supply 25 center
pieces for the event and some of
its members will serve as ushers
for the morning session. The
next meeting will be held on
January 4, at The Berks County
Agriculture Center in the
Natural Resources Room at 8.00
p.m.
The vice president, Valeria
Ferguson, presided at the busi
ness meeting during which sev
eral issues were discussed and it
was announced that the County
gave $3OOO to the Red Cross,
which was their project for this
year.
For the program Tina Volz
spoke on the Indians and she
was dressed in Indian clothing,
which she made. She told Indian
stories of their different ways
and said they want everyone to
learn C.P.R.

singing “Brighten the Corner” to
meet in December with Marion
Hastings and Mary Shirk is co
hostess.

Berks Society of Farm Women
#4 met on Oct. 6, at the home of
Virginia Talyer-Sloan, Hereford.
During the social hour, the
group hed an auction of wrapped
itesm weighing one pound. To
celebrate Farm Women Day,
members met on OcL 17, for
breakfast at Bonanza, Boyertown.
The following were elected for a
two-year term: Elsie Rothenbcr
ger, president; Lottie Hildenbrand,
vice president; Virginia Taylor-
Sloan, secretary; and Gcorgcanna
Fullerton, treasurer.
The state convention will be
held Jan. 11 at the Forum, Harris
burg. Registration is 9-9:30. The
banquet will be held at the Radi
son. Cost is $l9, the deadline for
tickets is Jan. 1.
The next Nov. 4 meeting was
held at the home of Maty Fizz,
Boyertown. Members made 75
candy train engines to be given out
as favors for Meals on Wheels.
Elsie Rothenberger, president,
conducted the business meeting.
Berks Heim bingo is Nov. 12.
Berks Heim needs gifts and
cookies for Santa’s Comer again
this year. Virginia Taylor-Sloan
will shop for gifts and see that they
are taken to the Heim.

Berks County needs to provide
25 centerpieces for the Jan. 11
State Convention. Group 4, will
make three centerpieces.
The next meeting will be Dec. 8
at The Inn at Pleasantvillc. Mem
bers will meet for dinner at 6:30
with the Crhistmas party to follow.
Everyone is to bring a wrapped $5
gift to be exchanged.
