ning to hold three meetings next
week.
The purpose is to sign the
membership agreement form,
making the farmer a member of
a tobacco co-op. The co-op will
sell the tobacco through an auc
tion or auctions
There will be a small fee (one
time) to become a member. The
member will have the right to
vote for the Pa. Tobacco
Marketing Association board of

The speaker is the Honorable
William A. Johnson, Jr., mayor
of Rochester, N.Y. Johnson has
received national attention for
his dynamic leadership. Elected
to office in 1994, he has tackled
the big issues head on and is
making remarkable progress.
Johnson made accessible gov
ernment one of his top priorities,
interacting with a broad cross
section of community residents
from school children to senior
citizens, corporate executives to
the unemployed. By making
more than 3,000 public appear
ances throughout the region, he
has opened lines of communica
tion and generated grassroots
support.
He had concentrated on areas
deemed most critical to improv
ing the quality of life for city res
idents: education, economic
development, public safety,
human services, and regional
