Cattle Summaiy
Compared to last week: Feeder cattle
and calves steady to 2.00 higher. Bulk
supply calves. Demand very good foe all
classes. Quality plain through attractive.
Calves in thin to fleshy conditions with
gaunt to average wdgh-ups. Feeder cattle
in thin to medium flesh with average to full
weigh-ups. Slaughter cows and bulls
1.00- lower. Packer demand very light,
however country buyers took up the slack.
Demand very good for thin cows returning
to wheat or the feedlot. Total of 950 cows
and bulls sold with 35 percent going to
packer. Receipts this week 14,800; last
week 9,191; last year 9,479. Supply con
sisted of 46 percent yearlings and calves
over 600 lbs; 48 percent calves under 600
lbs; 6 percent cows and bulls. Prices follow
with weighted average weight and price in
parenthesis.
