GLANCE
Prices were unchanged to higher for
mediums and smalls east of the Rockies,
otherwise, prices were unchanged. The
market tone was steady to firm for
mediums and smalls and steady on the lar
ger sizes. Demand ranged from light to
good, mostly moderate, and was best
where featured. Supplies were generally
adequate to occasionally tight on mediums
and small, balance of heavier weights were
adequate to fully adequate. Breaking stock
supplies from regular sources were usually
adequate in all areas except parts of the
Southeast where heavy nest tun breaking
stock was short of full needs. Offerings of
light type hens were at least adequate.

light and spotty nature. Offering* were
more than sufficient to easily cover the cur
rent unaggrcssive buyer interest Retail and

ever, some dealers were optimistic as out
front interest was developing. The market
tone remained weak and unsettled.

SUMMARY
Wheat and soybean bids turned lower
after yesterday’s tally, com bids showed
some strength. Wheat steady to 5 cents
lower. Com steady to 2 cents higher. Sorg
hum steady. Soybeans 5 to 8 cents lower.
Wheat bids were mostly lower, today,
prfessured by some profit taking on the
Boards. Uncertainty about the donation
program to Russia and the status of the
loan rates in the AO budget bill, weighed
on bids. Export demand has been slow this
week for wheat. Com bids were steady to
slightly higher as tains ate in the forecast
this week for the Com Bell areas. Temper
ing gains, however, is rapid harvest prog
ress with 43 percent of the crop reported to
be in bins. Fanner selling has slowed and
basis firmed. Good export sales earlier in
the week helped support com bids. Lower
soybean bids were due also to some profit
taking on the Boards. Weaker meal bids
also pressured bean bids as record high
crush rates have resulted in a surge in meal
supplies. Early week export sales have lim
ited declines.

report.
