exhibitors net over $27,745 at the
Bloomsburg Fair livestock sale.
Sale averages per pound with
champions were $.Bl for steers,
$1.22 for lambs and $.75 for hogs.
Janice Bower, a Williamsport
High School student who lives in
Cogan Station, sold her grand
champion steer to Hoss’s Steak
and Seahouse of Shamokin Dam
for $.85/lb. for a total of
$1,168.75. Reserve champion
showman Lance Herman of Beav
er Springs sold his steer to Her
man’s Greenhouse for $.95/lb.
Matt Porter of Elysburg had the
highest selling steer, which went
to Risser Grain for $1.20/lb.
The grand champion hog,
shown by Steve Smith, a Jersey
Shore Junior High School student
from Nippenose Valley, also went
to Hoss’s for $2.75/lb. for a total
of $682. That was the highest sell
ing hog. Adam Wolfe of Lewis
burg sold his reserve champion
hog to Hatfield Quality Meats for
$1.48/lb. Bob Bcishline, Moyer’s Garage,
