Cows do more than give milk. Sparkle, a Holstein, provides a comfortable mattress
for his mistress Janelle Zimmerman, 12, to relax between showing. Janelle and
Sparkle are from a Lebanon County dairy farm operated by Janelle’s parents’ Calvin
and The! Zimmerman.
Grandma Florence Kissinger needs her whole family to hold all the blue ribbons she
accumulated at Ephrata Fair. Helping her are her daughter and son-in-law Kevin and
Deanna Rupp, and grandchildren Derrick, Calvin, Tabby, Monica, and Lawrence
Rupp. Florence won blue ribbons for her pickled beets, applesauce, sweet pickles,
'ickled relish, and hot pepper mix. In addition, she won several second-place ribbons.
Diamond brothers Bradley, 1, and Brandon, 2, pet a cow at the Ephrata Fair.
