0 4-H HAPPENINGS District VI 4-H Horse Show The Annual District VI 4-H Horse Show was conducted Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Lebanon Area Fairgrounds. Two-hundred twenty 4-H’ers from Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry and York coun ties competed in 41 classes. Members who compete in this district show must have placed third or higher at their county roundup. The purpose of this show is two-fold. First it is a chance for the 4-H’ers to test their skills against fellow 4-H’ers from other counties. Second is to select those members who will represent District VI at the Pennsylvania State 4-H Horse Show, Oct. 23-25, at the Farm Show Complex, Harrisburg. Following is a list of show placings; HORSE AND PONY SHOW MEDIA REPORT RESULTS ENGLISH GROOMING AND SHOWMANSHIP ao m gives you improved comfort levels and better MFWD traction. Loader work is much smoother for shuttling over uneven terrain. Round bales seem to float as you move them across bumpy hayfields. And moving loads of sloppy manure or silage is easier, with less spillage. Here's how it works: Two hydraulic cylinders act as twin shock absorbers to cushion the jolts of fieldwork on the axle. They're double-acting, maintaining constant down-pressure on the front axle and keeping wheels in controlled contact with the ground. Visit Your John Deere Dealer Today! The study con firmed people still delay seek ing treatment in the event of a heart attack. Most peo ple wait at least two or more hours to seek help after first experiencing the symptoms of a heart attack. The survey was conducted among individuals who have already suffered one heart attack, those who have been told by a physician they are at risk for a heart attack and the general public. One-third of those sur veyed said they would not seek immediate medical treatment at the onset of actual heart attack symp toms, for reasons ranging from a reluctance to leave work to mistaking the heart attack for another medical condition. Only five percent knew that immediate medi cation can potentially stop a heart attack. According to researchers, the greatest reductions in death occur among patients who are treated with clot busting drugs within an hour of symptom onset. Dr. Eric J. Topol from The Cleveland Clinic Foundation agrees. “If we can decrease the time between heart attack onset and treatment to within one hour, we can reduce deaths by 15 percent.” Only 68 percent of those surveyed knew a heart attack begins at the onset of symp toms. A mere one in eight (12 percent) were aware that heart attack symptoms are different in men and women. The AHA says the key to survival is immediate action If you experience the signs or symptoms of a heart attack or recognize them in smother individual, the first step is to call 911 or the emergency number in your area. The survey was sponsored by the AHA and Boehringer Mann heim Corporation, Thera peutics Division.
