Correspondent MEADVILLE (Mercer Co.) For the fourth consecutive year, the Oaks family of Jackson Center won the supreme cham pion dairy cow trophy at the Crawford County Fair with a Jersey. This year’s supreme champion was the grand cham pion Jersey, Cooper Farms Starbuck Covergirl, a four-year old shown by 11-year-old Sally Oaks. The reserve grand champion was GR Legend Samson Hope the winner of the 125,000 pound class. Hope was owned by Ralph and Gary Oaks. Junior champi on went to Emily Alsdorf, Spartansburg, with her summer yearling A-Jay King Kit-Kat. The reserve junior champion was Justa-Dream DC Baby, a fall yearling owned by Jason Miller, Cambridge Springs. To Tour WYSOX (Bradford Co.) - The Bradford County Holstein Club is sponsoring a tow day tour to Canada on Nov. 12 and 13. The group will leave Wysox at 5:00 a.m. on Nov. 12 and make stops enroute to pick up tourgoers. The bus will arrive at Gencor at noon for lunch and a tour of the stud facility. The afternoon agenda includes stops at prominent Canadian breeders herds. Overnight accom modations will be in Toronto. Friday Nov 13, will be spent at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair including the Holstein show, Semex Daughter Display, and the many varied agricul tural exhibits. Cost of the tour is $BO, which covers dou ble occupancy hotel accommodations and bus transportation and is due with reser vation by Oct. 10. Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis until the bus is full. You need not be a Bradford County Holstein Club member to partici pate.
