More than 2,500 visi
tors attended Land
O'Lakes' Carlisle milk
manufacturing plant
open house on Aug. 13.
In the event includ
ed plant tours,
exhibits and an oppor
tunity to meet with
elected officials.
The all-day event
joined land O'Lakes
employees, co-op
members and families,
commodity buyers,
local business leaders,
state agriculture offi
cials and families,
commodity buyers,
local business leaders,
state agriculture offi
cials and representa
tives from commercial
business partners
such as Hershey's, to
see first-hand the
plant's modernization
and to meet with plant
management.
Additionally, repre
sentatives of the
Grocery Manufactures
of American (GMA),
met with U.S. Rep
Bill Goodhng (R), 19th
District, to discuss leg
islation and policies
impacting retailers of
food and agricultural
products The group
later toured the plant.

pride in being part of
this community,"
explained Steve

O'Lakes plant manag
er. "Our open house
gave grocers, produc
ers and business lead
ers a chance to meet,
exchange ideas and
enjoy the day. It's one
way we acknowledge
and give back to our
friends and partners."
The open house
included an exhibit
tent on the plant's
lawn which provided
visitors with informa
tion on Land O'Lakes
services, as well as
sampling of products
made with Land
O'Lakes manufac
tured ingredients.
