An FFA, owner-bred entry was named supreme champion at the Somerset County Fair Dairy Show. Destiny Charles Julie, a senior two-year-old owned by Philip Wayne Petenbrink, Garrett is a daughter out of Boulet charles-ET and Destiny Blackstar Jem. Her birth was October 28, 1995. Steers brought $70,425; lambs, $20,295 and swine, $79,828 during the six hours of bidding. Premier buyer Lincoln Supply and Equipment, which bought 12 animals during the sale for a total outlay of $11,067, bought Lucas Svonavec’s grand champion steer. The 1,250-pound animal brought $3.75 a pound for a total of $4,687.50. Svonavec, 16, is from Rockwood, Dr. Robert Bastian took the reserve champion steer, of Jason Fisher, Boswell, that weighed 1,215 pounds for a $2 price tag, for a total of $2,430. The steer was also the county bred champion. Jeffrey Knotts, Meyersdale, had the county bred reserve champion, which brought $1,574, when purchased for $1.25 from Renaissance Nutrition.
