N' , i Alex Koehler of Montrose first place winner at the Harford Fair Kiddy Tractor Pull. Kiddie Tractor Pull Takes Strong Muscles HARFORD, Md. The sev enth annual Kiddy Tractor Pull was held recently at the Harford Fair. More than 150 young con testants, ages 4 through 10, “pedaled their hardest” to gam their last inches of ground. Enthusiastic children pulled as parents and other spectators cheered them on. Children all across Susquehanna County took part m the pull as well as children from Factoryville, Dallas, Danville, Shavertown, Wyalusmg, Greencastle, Woolnch, Taylor, Scranton, Jermyn, Macungie, Halifax, Philadelphia and Clarks Summit, Pa., Sparta, N.J., Long Island, Conklin, Port Crane, Binghamton, Apalachm and Albany, NY., and Belmont, Mass. The tractors used were donated by Bartron Supply, Tunkhannock, and Lindsey Lawn and Garden Center, New Milford The tractors were altered for pulling and the weight sled was built by Doug Puzo of Montrose. Businesses donating materials to alter trac tors and build the weight sled were: Andre & Son, Montrose Auto Parts, Puzo’s Body Shop, Cornerstone Forest Products, Crafts Lumber, and M & M Machine Shop The event was organized by Doug and Mary Puzo, and Evie Goff Members of the Watrous Corners 4-H Club donated their time to work at the event Those members were Chris Hughes Aubrey Wood Dan Puzo, Jason Atkinson and Tyler Singleton Other volunteers assisting at this event included Jessie and John Puzo and Scott DeMora The Susquehanna County a I ten ate dairy ss Mehsa Marcy Harford Fair Queen N’icnie Chidester and Fair Queen Alternate Katie Cross were on hand to present awards Th< Harford Km Association provided j trophv lot f hi first- place winner in each division Ribbons were awarded to all other participants. In the junior division the four-year-old first and second place winners were Megan Bush, Dimock; Megan Oliver, Sprmgville; Alex Koehler, Montrose, and Dylan Thomas, Kingsley; five-year-old winners were Rachel Smarkusky, Nicholson; Meghan Honeyford, Montrose; Ben Oliver, Sprmgville and Jesse Frystak of Montrose; six-year-old winners were Daisy Matulevich, Kingsley; Kaitlm Callender, Thompson; Todd Howard, Conklin and Kodie Warring; the seven-year-old winners were Abbey Puzo, Montrose; Paulina Tompkins, Union Dale, Michael Greenwood and Rip Van Winkle 111 both of Montrose In the senior division the eight-year-old first and sec ond place winners were Chelsey Saam and Brittany Zembrowski both of Thompson; Clair Tompkins, Union Dale; David Smarkusky, Nicholson; the nine year-old winners were Cara Hollenbeck, Port Crane; Beth Stone, Susquehanna; Daniel Glezen, Hallstead, Jared Lagermasini, New Milford; 10- year-old winners were Tara Rhodes, Taylor; Aubrey Wood, Montrose, Billv Lopatofsky, Union Dale and Brian Belcher. Hop Bottom. The Junior and Senior Champions receiving grand champion ribbons were Abbey Puzo, Michael Greenwood, Chelsey Saam and Daniel Glezen. A fair should be fun for the kids.
