LAST YEAR
CATTLE: Compared to last week's
closing prices, slaughter steers sold steady
to weak. The market's potential looked
good early in the week, but by Thutsday
pressure loomed and prices slipped slightly
lower in the face of the three-day weekend
and reduced slaughter rates. Western feed
lots lost yet another dollar this week with
the bulk of sales posted at 56.00. However,
cattle feeders will get little sympathy from
hog producers as local hog prices dropped
as much as 8.00 this week. Local Holstein
steers closed .50-1.00 lower and heifers
ended mostly steady in a light test. Slaugh
ter cows finished .50-1.00 lower and
slaughter bulls sold steady to JO lower.
This week's supply was made up of around
39 percent slaughter steers, 5 percent
slaughter heifets, 37 percent slaughter
cows, 6 percent bulls and the balance were
feeder cattle.

EASY, the Electronic Application

Producers using EASY can

NAAB code number with the
country codes is also incorporated
