CATTLE; Compared to Tuesday,
slaughter steers sold mostly steady to .50
lower. A good percentage of the small
supply was made up of high Choice and
Prime cattle that sold mostly steady. The
pressure was evident on the lesser quality
cattle as buyers were conservative on the
verge of the holiday weekend. A light test
of Holstein steers were SO-1.00 lower and
slaughter heifers were not well tested. A
good offering of slaughter cows sold weak
to 50 lower and slaughter bulls were fully
steady. Supply included 30 percent slaugh
ter steers and 39 percent slaughter cows.

CALVES: Compared to Monday's auc
tion, veal calves sold 2.00-5.00 lower and
slaughter halves were 5.00-10.00 lower.
Holstein bulls sold weak to 5.00 lower in
moderately active trading. The Holstein
heifer demand lost its spark and prices
moved lower for the first time in several
weeks. Holstein heifeis sold near steady to
Monday's light test, but 35.00 lower than
last week. Around 80 percent of supply
returned to feed.
VEALERS: Good and Choice 70-110
lbs 18.00-27.00. Standard and low Good
70-90 lbs 15.00-20.00, few 55-70 lbs down
to 11.00.
SLAUGHTER CALVES: Few Good and
Choice 200-350 lbs 70.00-90.00. Standard
