USDA-MO Dept Ag Market News
Negative news continues to rule the grain
and soybean trade but prices a little on the
ALAN DIFFENBACH AUCT.-AU2258-L
positive siae today. Wheat mixed. Com
steady to 2 cents liigher. Sorghum 2 to 3
cents higher. Soybeans 2 to 8 cents higher.
Temperatures up near the century mark
over a large part of the Com Belt this week
but this not expected to cut yields to anv
great extent as cooler weather and rain is in
the forecast for next week. Com harvest is
already underway down South and the big
feedlots in the Southwest are busy filling
their huge storage pits with high moisture
com.
Good yields on the irrigated fields but not
too great on some of the dry spots in the
South and Southwest. Western and Eastern
Com Belts expected to have the abundant
harvest. Good yields reported on early
spring wheat harvest. Exports again show
ing a little activity, mostly for com and soy
beans. Many counties now have LDP pay
ments for wheat.
Some out of the way country elevators
that no longer have rail service ate bidding
below 1.70 a bushel for new crop com.
CCC loan rates of 2.00 on com and 5.40
soybeans are popular in numerous counties.
The Government may become big grain
dealers this fall with tight storage space.
