sion has announced an upcoming
program, “Greenhouse Short
Course.”
This five-day program has been
designed to train new greenhouse
operators and update the skills of
those presently operating green
house businesses in the full range
of practices required to success
fully produce and market high
quality greenhouse products.
Overall program emphasis is on
practices that directly relate to
plant production.
Any growers using a green
house for any crops, including
herbs, vegetables, strawberries,
bedding plants, transplants, etc.,
should benefit from this short
course.
Subjects will include heat
ing, ventilation, scheduling, dis
ease management, insect manage
ment, and much more.

Those considering entering the
greenhouse business and new
hires are strongly encouraged to
attend.
The program will be held on
five consecutive Fridays, Oct.
2-30, at the Huntingdon County
Cooperative Extension office.
Preregistration is required and
registration is limited. Registra
tion closes on Sept 24.
The cost of the short course is
$125 per person and includes all
program materials, morning
breaks, and lunches.
A second person from the same
farm or business can attend for a
registration fee of $lOO.
Pesticide credits will be
awarded to licensed Pennsylvania
applicators. Registration forms
