Ephrata National Bank Chief To Retire Aaron L. Groff Jr. EPHRATA (Lancaster Co.) After a 44-year career with The Ephrata National Bank, John H. Shuey, chairman of the board, pre sident and CEO, has announced his retirement effective Jan. 1, 1999. The board of directors has ap pointed Aaron L. Groff Jr., the bank’s vice president and cashier, to succeed him. Shuey, who began with the bank as of Jan. 1, 1955, came up through the ranks, and along the way performed virtually every job in the bank. He was first appointed a bank officer in 1960, was pro moted to cashier in 1967, and vice president in 1974. Shuey was Wengers Hosts NTPDA Directors MYERSTOWN (Lebanon Co.) Wengers of Myerstown recent ly hosted a tour and dinner for the board of directors of the National Tractor Parts Dealer Association. The NTPDA is an international association with members across the United States, Canada and in Europe, serving the agricultural and industrial industries for the purposes of buying and selling re pair parts and related equipment via direct communication among the membership. Wengers has been a member of the association since NTPDA‘s in ception, with Larry Wenger serv ing as an officer for all bht two years. Wenger holds the position T.D.N. In 1980 Groff was promoted to cashier, and in 1984 the designation of vice presi dent was added to his title. of NTPDA vice president. The NTPDA’s 1998 summer board meeting was held at Tami ment Resort in the Poconos with 17 stales represented. A chartered bus brought the directors to Wen gers of Myerstown, where they were greeteed by company presi dent, Glenn Wenger, the Wenger family and the sales staff. The NTPDA members were treated to on-site visits of the agricultural and construction facilities, as well as a tour of Lloyd Wenger’s toy bam. Following the tour, Wengers of Myerstown hosted a meal for evciyone on the patio of the Lan tern Lodge Motor Inn and Con vention Center. Tractors Receive Honors LITITZ (Lancaster Co.)
